Best Italian food I've HD in a long time. Unique menu items with some nice classics as well. We tried their spinach dip with pasta chips (really just fried Wonton skins) it was delicious! Chicken carbonara was great, along with the spaghetti and meatballs, they were huge and tasty. I go back whenever I can.
I really don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about. The staff was quick and friendly to us. The food was fresh and tasty. And they were more than happy to make substitutions. Great decor too, all around a pleasant experience, not too elegant but just casual enough. 5 stars!
I consider this restaurant to be average. We went for dinner a couple of months ago. The calamari was awful (rubbery and fishy smell), and I thought the rest of the meal was generic and uninspired. My penne was bland but my husband liked his spaghetti. The service was nice as is the atmosphere.
This place is sooo good. I don't know what all the negative comments are about. Probably the snootier people in oakville wishing it was a fine-dining restaurant. This is a *gorgeous* restaurant (It's festive right now with a nice christmas tree and presents) but it's not fine dining, it's just really tasty casual Italian food. If you want fine dining, go somewhere else. If you want a great bowl of pasta with big shrimp (that's what I had) or nice pizzas or bellinis (yum), you won't find it at that badda boom badda bing place or some other crappy chain, you'll find it here! Awwwwesome!
The food at the Olive Press is average for a non Italian, Italian restaurant.
The service is pretty bad. Especially when they will not puree a soup for an toddler because they don't own a blender???????? Very strange. Furthermore, they will not deviate from their menu at all, even the slightest bit.
I would never eat here again.
