Milestone achieved! Last month, the project team at 41st & Cambie gathered to celebrate the project’s topping off milestone. With 130 attendees, the event recognized the hard work and dedication of our amazing team and partners. Situated across from the Oakridge-41st Canada Line Station and the Oakridge Park shopping center redevelopment, the 16-storey residential building will offer 99 rental homes in the vibrant Cambie Corridor. Residents will enjoy rooftop amenity spaces and easy access to shopping, schools, and parks. The building’s three level retail podium will house TD Bank. Thank you to everyone who joined us in marking this achievement! #LedcorBuilds PCI Developments

Together with Qualico Properties, our Edmonton construction team celebrated the topping-off of the Station Lands project with a donation to Edmonton’s Bissell Centre. Located next to Station Lands, the Bissell Centre is dedicated to eliminating poverty in the community. This donation builds on our ongoing support of the centre, following our joint clothing drive which encouraged participation from employees and tenants in the area. A big thank you to our Station Lands team and Qualico Properties for making a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work! #LedcorCares

We’re proud to announce we’ve partnered with 11 of Canada’s leading general contractors to form the newly launched Canadian Construction Safety Council (CCSC). Our mission is to elevate safety performance and establish innovative new industry benchmarks to protect construction workers nationwide. As we work together to drive industry change and proactively protect, engage, and support workers, our initial three main focus areas will be the adoption of Type II safety helmets with integrated chin strap, a new fall protection standard at six feet and the adoption of ANSI level four cut-resistant gloves. Check out the newly launched website to learn more about the CCSC and how we aim to build a safer and stronger construction industry across Canada. https://ow.ly/kvoB50VklyQ #CanadianConstructionSafetyCouncil #CCSC #Safety

Our Design-Build group in collaboration with our Virtual Construction Services team recently provided a 3D immersive experience for the project partners and end users of the new BC Children's Hospital centre for health complexity. A huge thank you to everyone who shared their invaluable feedback – your insights are shaping the final design of this facility. #LedcorBuilds
Staff from BC Children’s Hospital, the BC Children's Hospital Foundation and PHSA recently got a sneak preview of key spaces in the new BC Children’s Hospital centre for health complexity, with the help of virtual reality (VR) software. The new centre, to be located at Slocan Street and East 21st Avenue in Vancouver, will serve the most medically complex children in B.C. and the Yukon. Construction will begin in spring 2025 and the centre is on schedule to open in early 2028. As part of the detailed design process, the project’s design-build partner Ledcor created renderings of key spaces in the centre using VR. Staff could put on the VR headset and use the controllers to move through the spaces in a fully immersive, three-dimensional way. The purpose of this was to review the flow and functionality of key spaces to help finalize the layout, fixtures, furniture and equipment for each room in the three-storey building. The project team and Ledcor facilitated 15 review sessions with over 60 project partners in total, including front-line clinicians, support services staff, operational leaders, patients and caregivers, and staff from the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

Exciting Progress at Soroptimist House! Last Friday, our team at Purpose Driven Development had a fantastic site visit with our client, Soroptimist International of the Americas, Inc., at the Soroptimist House project. It was great to see the progress firsthand and celebrate the teamwork and collaboration that continue to drive this project forward. Milestone Update: ✅ The slab at grade is now complete! This marks a key transition from underground work to vertical construction - meaning we’ll see the structure take shape much more rapidly from here. ✅ Key infrastructure and foundation waterproofing are progressing smoothly, thanks to the expertise and dedication of our project partners. A huge thank you to Ledcor for their collaboration and team work and to all our partners - including GBL Architects, BC Housing, Vancity, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL), Federation of Canadian Municipalities, and the City of Vancouver - for making this project a reality. We’re excited to keep building momentum on this affordable housing project that will provide much-needed homes for senior women, women-led families, and workforce women in Vancouver. What’s Ahead in 2025: Theatre Transformations Our Construction teams have been transforming iconic theatres in their cities, blending history with innovation to create vibrant cultural hubs. The 57-year-old Globe Theatre in Regina, SK, set within a 108-year-old building, is being revitalized with upgraded systems, a restored exterior, and a refreshed interior. Enhancements include wider aisles, comfier seats (with cupholders!), and new stage features like a catwalk and trap door. After the abatement and demolition of the existing facility, the new James Cowan Theatre in Burnaby, BC, will feature 365 retractable seats, studio spaces, a café, and more. Targeting Rick Hansen certification, it will be a beacon of accessibility and community engagement when it opens its doors in 2027. These projects celebrate the magic of live theatre—preserving history and embracing the future! #LedcorBuilds
