The York Catholic District School Board is a leader in Ontario’s publicly funded education system. Our guiding principle is Catholic Education: nurturing our students in a Christ-centered environment that provides an exemplary education to every student.
The YCDSB recently released our new Multi-Year Strategic Plan, which will guide our board through the 2027-2028 school year. In that plan, the YCDSB committed to promoting: the Catholic faith; equity and inclusion; student achievement; and well-being.

Today, on World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, we give thanks to God for the gift of their wisdom, love and faithful presence in our lives.
Pope Francis reminds us that grandparents are “the link between generations, passing on the experience of life and faith.” Let us cherish and honour them, not only today, but every day, with gratitude and care.

On July 26, we celebrate the Feast Day of Saint Anne, the beloved mother of Mary and grandmother of Jesus.
St. Anne’s life is a beautiful reminder of faith, devotion and the power of prayer. Her legacy inspires us to guide and nurture the young hearts in our care with love and wisdom.

With gratitude and pride, the York Catholic District School Board is the proud recipient of a $270,000 grant from the Italian government in support of our International Languages and Cultures Program.
This milestone, made possible through months of advocacy, partnership and dedication, ensures that nearly 5,500 students across 21 schools can continue to grow in language, culture, faith and global citizenship.

Thanks to Billy Pang, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Education, for visiting St. Brother André CHS in Markham last week. He learned about the YCDSB's fantastic summer school offerings, including the Akoma Camp and Kickstart.
Akoma is an Afrocentric literacy and affirmation camp for all students in Grades 4-8.
Kickstart allows students entering high school to earn a secondary credit as they sharpen their academic skills and prepare for the transition to Grade 9.
The students and staff were excited to welcome Mr. Pang!
