Celebrated each year on March 8, IWD is a global event that recognizes the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while driving action to accelerate women's equality. This year’s panel discussion was a powerful opportunity to discuss our commitment to promote women working in the trades and spark meaningful conversations about what it means to support women thriving at work. Empowering the Next Generation of Tradeswomen🌟 We had a fantastic start to 2025 by continuing our mission to empower young women through our dynamic bootcamps. Earlier this month, our Enercare Women In Trades (WIT) Committee had the pleasure of welcoming 28 enthusiastic young women from a secondary school in Toronto to our Young Women in Trades Bootcamp. 🛠️ Participants asked insightful questions about careers in the trades, what to expect, and how to prepare for a future in the trades, even while still in high school. The WIT team was inspired by the high level of engagement and curiosity and were happy to share their own experience as HVAC technicians, electricians, and plumbers. We’re proud to be able to host these bootcamps to inspire the next generation of skilled trades women. This holiday season, our teams across Canada once again came together to make a meaningful difference. We proudly donated over 33,000 meals to Food Banks Canada | Banques alimentaires Canada supporting families in need. What an inspiring day! A huge thank you to MPP Logan Kanapathi for joining us at Enercare’s Young Women in Trades bootcamp. 🌟This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating our incredible Enercare Volunteers🌟 Throughout the year, our Enercare Experts have given hundreds of hours of their time, energy, and talents to make a difference in our communities across the country. We built homes with Habitat for Humanity Canada through our Sustainable Homes Partnership and inspired the next generation with Habitat’s Meaning of Home national writing contest, where we reviewed and awarded students’ work across Canada. Our volunteers championed inclusivity and connection through initiatives like Trades Discovery Days, Young Women in Trades Bootcamps and through fundraising by our Women in Trades Committee. Our Employee Committee brought teams together through events like Spirit Day, our Summer BBQ and more. Their dedication is truly inspiring. And we don’t just stop there! As we head into the holiday season, the spirit of giving continues with our 2024 National Food Drive.
