wouldn't use Greystone Construction again!
In my opinion, this builder is a great salesman and is very likeable, but I would not recommend him based on my experience with his services. Here are a few of the reasons why. First they charge a percentage of the overall total costs so it is not in their best interest to cut down on your building expenses.We were over budget mostly because of the expense of trades they chose. In my opinion based on our experience, this builder and his wife are highly motivated in benefiting financially and not finishing the project to save the client money and provide reliable professional services. There never was an official walk through upon the completion of our home and their were many defiencies left that I had to hire other trades to complete at our additional expense. I feel that there is a total lack of quality control with the workers they choose and hired. Some of the workers were just local positive help hired through an employment agency. The short cuts and mistakes the trades made are starting to surface in our home. We have plumbing issues, cracks in the ceilings, doors that aren't fitted or framed properly, water leaks, water softner issues and electrical problems to name a few. We were told by Greystone construction that they would povide us in witting 3 competing bids for the trades. This never happened and we were pressured into using the people they work with. When I did compare one of the material costs on my own with a company Greystone suggested the company I interviewed was $6000.00 cheaper for the exact same product. In addition, the builder has taken potential clients of his through our home without us being there and without our permission. Building a custom home is a very detailed,costly process and the builder you hire is the foundation of this process. Be wise, be careful and interview more than one builder. Best of luck.
